Itinerary

Day 1 – Montréal: Welcome to eastern Canada. Your journey into wonder begins with a two night stay at the luxurious Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth.

Day 2 – Montréal: Visit the exquisite Notre-Dame Basilica in Old Montréal, with its imposing Gothic Revival architecture, as well as the only ‘Holy Door’ outside Europe. Later take a guided tour through the city. Be sure to check out Montréal’s underground city where many locals spend their time during the frosty winter. This evening you can look forward to enjoying dinner with your Tour Director and fellow travellers. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 3 – Montréal > Québec City: Enrich: Learn how maple syrup is made and dine on traditional Québécois fare at a local Sugar Shack while listening to live, local music. Enrich:  Discover the fascinating history, architecture and culture of Québec City as you stroll through the cobblestone streets of North America’s only walled city on a tour of the old town. Begin a two night Special Stay at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in the heart of Québec City. Your iconic château is the world’s most photographed hotel and you’ll soon see why, as it dominates the city skyline and is visible from almost anywhere in the city. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 – Québec City: Freechoice: Today, you can choose to tour Québec City by foot or fly over it. Alternatively, tour the streets in a horse and carriage or sample local treats on a guided walk. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 5 – Parc Oméga > Ottawa: Enrich: Parc Oméga is home to bears, wolves, wapitis, red deer, beavers and more. Thrill in the opportunity to get up close and personal with the residents on a drive-through wildlife safari through the unique 1,500 acres. As you’ll discover, some of the animals certainly aren’t shy. Straddling the Rideau Canal, Canada’s capital city Ottawa is nothing if not elegant. And for the next two nights you’ll get to enjoy a more elegant experience than most at the iconic Fairmont Château Laurier, located just moments from Parliament House. Freechoice Dining: Tonight, select between local restaurants or your hotel. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 6 – Ottawa: Today, unearth the charm of Canada’s capital on a guided tour. Freechoice: Embrace Ottawa’s history and culture at its national museums, sample gourmet delights on a tour of ByWard Market, or alternatively take a cruise. It’s up to you Meals included: Breakfast

Day 7 – Ottawa > Toronto: The Fairmont Royal York has welcomed royals, presidents and dignitaries alike, and today it will welcome you. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 8 – Toronto: Be treated to stunning views of the city and Lake Ontario from Toronto’s CN Tower. Not afraid of heights? Then step out onto the glass floor and outdoor observation area. And later, enjoy a tour of downtown Toronto. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 9 – Toronto > Niagara Falls: Today you’ll cruise to the base of the Niagara Falls to experience one of the most dramatic and powerful natural displays anywhere in the world. Later, you’ll get to relive the wonder from your private fallsview room at the Hilton Hotel and Suites Niagara Falls. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 10 – Niagara Falls > Lancaster: Welcome to the USA. Lancaster is home to the religious Amish and Mennonite communities. Savour a traditional home-style Amish feast before settling in to the Lancaster Arts hotel or similar. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 11 – Lancaster > Washington D.C.: Visit an Amish farm and house as a local guide explains Amish culture, faith and way of life before venturing to Washington D.C. for a completely contrasting experience. The elegant Fairmont Washington D.C. welcomes you for the next two nights. Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 12 – Washington D.C.: Enjoy a guided tour of Washington D.C. and gain greater insight into the city’s history and influence. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 13 – Philadelphia > New York City: Explore the historic city of Philadelphia before journeying to cosmopolitan New York City. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to embrace the excitement of this world-renowned metropolis during your two night stay in the Renaissance New York Times Square. Meals included: Breakfast

Day 14 – New York City: Today, explore New York during a hop-on-hop-off double decker bus tour. Enrich: Nothing exemplifies the magic of theatre more than a Broadway production, as you’ll have the chance to discover for yourself at a wonderful show in this entertainment mecca.  Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 15 – New York City > Boston > Canada New England Cruise
Relax in your business class seat and enjoy your train journey to Boston. Upon arrival in Boston board Holland America Line’s ms Zuiderdam where you check into your verandah stateroom. For the duration of your cruise, the ‘Signature Beverage Package’ has been included. Please be advised that shore excursions are an additional expense and can be purchased online prior to departure or onboard your cruise ship. Day 16 – Portland, Maine: Modern Portland, first settled in 1633, carries the marks of both subsets of Mainers. The restored brick buildings and warehouses of the Old Port and the fine upright houses of prosperous captains, merchants and shipbuilders make the city’s past a living part of its present. And the waterfront is a going concern with Fishing boats chugging into and out of their berths, buoys clang, harbour seals bark. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 17 – Saint John, New Brunswick: Saint John, on the southern coast of New Brunswick, is Canada’s oldest incorporated city as well as the only city on the Bay of Fundy. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 18 – Halifax, Nova Scotia Explore the seaside capital of Nova Scotia. Maritime lovers will delight in the nautical-themed museums and the charming fishing village of Peggy’s Cove, complete with picturesque lighthouse on a rocky outcropping. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 19 – Sydney, Cape Breton Island: This extraordinary island is rich with Gaelic, Mi’kmaq and Acadian cultures. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 20 – Saint Pierre and Miquelon: The tiny French islands of Saint Pierre and Miquelon are the last remnants of the former colonial territory of New France. Enjoy the uniquely French architecture, cafes and people. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 21 – Corner Brook, Newfoundland: Like many other Newfoundland settlements, Corner Brook started out as a fishing village. Later, one of the largest pulp and paper mills in the world was built here. In the city’s downtown core, West Street and Broadway are the center of action, thanks to numerous pubs, shops and restaurants. Corner Brook also has an impressive amount of green space, you’re always within walking distance of a park or trail. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 22 – Scenic Cruising Simply enjoy your cruise today. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 23 – Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island: Visit Charlottetown, the largest city on Prince Edward Island and the inspiration for ‘Anne of Green Gables’. The charming Victorian architecture, cobblestone streets, abundance of parks and wild shores will inspire you as well. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 24 – Gulf of Saint Lawrence Cruising: Cruise the mighty Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The world’s largest estuary flows all the way from the Great Lakes 1,200 kilometres away and has a coastal connection with half of Canada’s 10 provinces. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 25 – Baie-Comeau, Quebec: Located in the Manicouagan region, a vast region of dense forest, powerful rivers and sweeping coastline stretching along the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. With its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural and religious heritage, it is sure to charm you, while the warm welcome of its people will contribute to a memorable experience. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 26 – Saguenay, Québec: Cruise Saguenay Fjord and marvel at the steep wooded cliffs and immense glacier-carved rock walls. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
