Itinerary

Pick up your rental vehicle in San Francisco, then travel across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge for the short drive to the Napa Valley. Stop at the Mediterranean-inspired city of Sausalito for lunch, before arriving in the town of Napa, situated in the heart of the wine region. Check out the local arts and craft stores and this evening perhaps dine at one of the many first class restaurants. Spend the next three nights in the Napa Valley.

Head to Yountville to begin your Napa Valley adventure. Visit Domaine Chandon, one of the most beautiful locations for sipping wine in the valley. Walk through the picturesque gardens, sample cheeses and explore underground wine
cellars and museum caves at V. Sattui Winery. After lunch, make your way back toward Napa to explore more of the area. This evening perhaps dine at The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil, renowned as the first fine dining restaurant in
the Napa Valley (extra charge).

Begin your day with a visit to the famous chateau at Domaine Carneros. Why not have brunch with sparkling wine, caviar and smoked salmon from your private table on the terrace, overlooking the lake and vineyards (extra charge). Then be sure to follow the Silverado Trail for a tasting at Luna Vineyards (extra charge). Dinner onboard the Napa Valley Wine Train is a must-do experience. Ride in the vintage rail cars as you travel from downtown Napa to St. Helena, stopping at renowned wineries along the way, before arriving back at Napa (extra charge).

Take the time to drive along the Silverado Trail, as you wind your way northwest to Calistoga, home to mineral hot springs and historic mud baths. Stop by the Old Faithful Geyser of California or the awe-inspiring Castello di Amorosa, a Tuscaninspired castle and winery. Before leaving, hike to the summit of Mount St. Helena, which offers breathtaking views of the Napa Valley and beyond. Stop at New Clairvaux Vineyard, located in the small town of Vina, before arriving in Redding. Spend the next two nights in Redding.

Travel the short distance to the Indian Peak Vineyards in the historic town of Manton. Visit the tasting room and sample the winery’s full selection of wines, finishing with a dark chocolate truffle and signature ‘Donna’s Dessert’ wine.
Then head back to Redding for a visit to Moseley Family Cellars, where you can taste and learn about their wines.

Continue your journey to the beautiful Rogue Valley in Oregon. Stop at Ashland, home to a vibrant arts scene, before visiting the Irvine & Roberts Vineyards. Take in spectacular views of the surrounding valley and mountains from the outdoor terrace, while enjoying a glass of Pinot Noir or Chardonnay. Then venture north to Paschal Winery, with its hilltop tasting room overlooking pear orchards and the local mountain ranges. Spend the next two nights in the Rogue Valley.

Today explore the picturesque Rogue Valley. Visit Del Rio Vineyard Estate, then head back to Grants Pass for wine tasting and lunch at the Schmidt Family Vineyards. Afterwards, visit the fully-organic Wooldridge Creek Vineyard, Winery, Creamery & Charcuterie overlooking the Applegate River Valley. Take the time to sip handcrafted wines and snack on cheeses and cured meats. The farm is also home to dwarf goats, chickens and mini horses. This evening don’t miss out on seeing the sun go down over the river and surrounding hills.

This morning, take a detour from wine tastings to visit Crater Lake National Park and admire Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the USA. Then re-join the wine trail in the Umpqua Valley and stop at Abacela Winery in Roseburg. Journey north to Eugene, located on the banks of the Willamette River. Discover the city’s lively arts and cultural scene and first class dining. Spend the next two nights in Eugene.

Head to Silvan Ridge Winery, popular for its exquisite Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. Then take a short trip to Sarver Winery to sample their signature wines including Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Enjoy wine tasting while taking in the spectacular views of the surrounding valley. On arrival back to Eugene visit the 5th Street Public Market, the Museum of Natural and Cultural History or the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art. Perhaps enjoy dinner at the King Estate
Winery, one of the largest organic vineyards in the world (extra charge).

Continue your journey north to the boutique Pfeiffer Winery. Make sure to sample their wines in the cosy Italian grotto-inspired tasting room. A short distance away is Walnut Ridge Vineyard, housed in a unique French Colonial-style tasting room. Take the time to enjoy wine and gourmet delights in the indoor or outdoor dining area, while taking in the breathtaking vistas of the Cascade and Oregon Coast Mountains. Venture into the heart of the Willamette Valley to Newberg for dinner at The Painted Lady, a charming farm-totable fine dining restaurant (extra charge). Spend the next two nights in the Willamette Valley.

Spend the day exploring Willamette Valley with a visit to Erath Winery, a leading producer of Pinot Noir. For a delicious and laid-back lunch, stop at Red Hills Market, before heading to the Argyle Tasting House and the Four Graces.

Depart beautiful Willamette Valley and stop at Sokol Blosser Winery and the Clubhouse at Domaine Serene to enjoy exquisite Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. After lunch, drive to Portland and enjoy the afternoon exploring the city’s rich
culinary scene. Overnight in Portland.

Your road trip ends when you return your rental vehicle at Portland Airport.
